Today is the 61st anniversary of D-Day. If you've seen the film Saving Private Ryan, you can get a small taste of what that day was like for those men. I met a couple of them at the World War II Memorial dedication last year. There aren't many of them left. My father and I also stopped at the D-Day Memorial in Bedford, Virginia as well. This is their day of remembrance. Thanks to all who gave their life that day and thank you to the ones still alive who went through that hell.
Go look at D-DAY REMEMBERED at Michelle Malkin's blog. Every American should read the Atlantic Monthly's 1960 piece on D-Day. It takes a few links from the Scott Johnson post but it's worth it.
