This is interesting. Tennessee has five metropolitan areas listed in Best Places to Live 2005.
Sperling's Best Places list ranked 331 metro areas across the nation.
The Tri-Cities (Johnson City-Kingsport-Bristol) was the top ranked Tennessee area at number 77, followed by Knoxville at number 103, Nashville 205, Chattanooga 210 and Jackson at 304. According to Bert Sperling, health care ranked very high for the Tri-Cities. He also listed a reasonable cost of living, pleasant climate, low traffic congestion and relatively low crime rates as contributing to the high ranking.
