I went 3-2 last week but that's what you get sometimes when you pick three upsets. I only got one of those three and that was NC State over East Carolina. I missed
the Vols ass getting kicked by the hated Gators and that ruined my whole weekend. My brother-in-law told me that there's a rumor that George W asked Phil Fulmer to run FEMA after he saw how fast the stadium emptied last week. And another rumor was that the National Weather Service predicted a tornado in Knoxville and announced everyone should go to Neyland Stadium because they were sure there would be no touch down there. Anyway I'm now 14-6 for the year. The picks:
Auburn 26, Tennessee 23--Last week was the worst game I've ever seen the Vols play at home--ever. Maybe that ass kicking will get Fulmer stirred up enough that he'll actually change something--like putting his best athletes on special teams. With apologies to Marvin Gaye, Fulmer is a stubborn kind of fellow and because of that he loses again--because of special teams.
Georgia 31, Alabama 24--If this was an Alabama home game I might pick them for the win. But it's between the hedges and I like Georgia's running game. And I don't like Nick Saban. Go Dawgs.
Fresno St 23, UCLA 21--The Bruins one win was against Tennessee. This game only makes Tennessee look even worse. Bruins go to 1-3 and don't look good doing it.
Wisconsin 27, Michigan 18--The Badgers have been playing well. The Wolverines haven't. It doesn't get any better this week for Michigan. The Badgers have three turnovers and still win which is why this one isn't as close as the score indicates.
Penn State 33, Illinois 21--Joe Pa sat in the press box the last half of last week's game. I guess he's entitled to that at age eighty something. He or someone on the coaching staff have opened up the offense this year and it's been paying off. The Illini get zookered.
