MSNBC Takes Incendiary Hosts From Anchor Seat. What a surprise.
I really have difficulty understanding how a big news organization like NBC or MS-NBC can go so far astray as they did in this instance. Even a dumb old country boy like me could have predicted what would happen with Olbermann and Matthews in those seats. Olbermann in particular didn't just blur the line between news and commentary--he obliterated it. Matthews wasn't much better but at least he comes across a little less angry. And to make matters worse they even argued between themselves on the air. That tells me huge egos were in action.
The bottom line is that they alienated viewers and that could cost MS-NBC money. That's the one thing that makes things change in a big company fast. Why MS-NBC management couldn't understand an objective anchor in that role is required is totally beyond me. It makes me think that either their desire for ratings blinded them or they're incompetent. Either way it's bad management on their part. They now look very foolish for having placed those guys there in the first place.
Here's a prediction--at some point in the not too distant future Olbermann will go ballistic on or off the air over some slight, real or perceived, and leave. And at that time I will say good riddance and don't let the door hit your ass.

I suspect that you would be kinder to Olbermann if he said things that you agreed with.
