Suffice it to say that all is not well in Big Orange Country. That was one humongous choke in la-la land last night. I'll save any more comments for Fulmer's Football Friday Follies.
In other and more depressing news Don LaFontaine has died. Chances are you've never heard of that name but the odds are very high that you've heard him speak. He was known as the king of the movie trailer voice overs. I can't remember a single movie he did but I can sure remember that deep baritone voice and even a couple of phrases he was famous for: "in a world like no other" and "nowhere to run, nowhere to hide". I thought he was brilliant because he could literally create drama with his voice.
In the last two years or so he did a Geico commercial spoofing his trailers.
That's the first time I had ever seen his face and as usual he didn't look like I had imagined. Anyway my sympathies go to his family because I consider him a movie icon.
And coincidentally I have this vision of LaFontaine's "nowhere to run, nowhere to hide" voice waking Phil Fulmer up at night. I'm just saying.
