The Big Kahuna of collegiate athletics called our President today.
The BK gave us their blessing to procede with the last and final year of the process for becoming one of their member institutions. That's a big step because it means we have managed our athletics program the way they have wanted us to for the last two years. The final year is really a dress rehearsal for the real thing and we only have to show that we can continue to do so for another year.
It should be a piece of cake because we've been at least 99% there for the last year. I just have to keep my i's dotted and my t's crossed and not let anyone stub their toe on anything.
I knew the call was going to be made today but I didn't know whether the approval was going to happen. But I had good thoughts about it and it's nice to get those thoughts confirmed.
It was a nice way to end the week and it's going to be a good weekend.
