1.  I don't watch much television anymore but I keep my eye out for when this series pops up.  It is a television adaption from the Robert B. Parker books although the shows are no longer directly based from a book.  There is always some beautiful scenery since at least some scenes are shot in Nova Scotia. The seventh in the series was on last Sunday night and while it was quite good I find myself getting a little irritated with Tom Selleck's acting.  Over the course of the series he and the writers have slowly turned the troubled Stone character into a predictable one.  I liked him better when he wasn't so much.  Nevertheless, the series is a gem in the television wasteland.  Watch for the dog, he's one of the best characters.  Recommended highly.

2.  The Professor recently turned me on to The Civil Wars.  Never heard of them before his mentioning them but I do love their harmony.  And a great name for a male/female duo.

3.   Speaking of music I attended a Gaither Homecoming Concert a couple of weeks back.  I've always been a big fan of gospel music.  This was the second Gaither concert I had been to.  This one showcased Michael English, David Phelps, The Martins, Charlotte Ritchie, The Isaacs and the Gaither Vocal Band.  The concert was 3 1/2 hours long and the musicians are extremely talented and all high energy.  Also recommended highly.

4.  Audio books.  I have become addicted to them.  I listen to them during my daily commute.  Mostly I listen to mystery and crime.  I particularly like John Sandford's Prey series with Lucas Davenport but I also like Robert Crais, Michael Connelly and Lee Child.  I haven't listed to my car radio in months.  And I haven't bought a single audio book.  All come from the local public library.

5. This is my drink of choice these days.  As a southern boy, I have to have my iced tea.  I know this one is actually a Coca-Cola product but it's the best tea I can find where I live.  I've had all the brands that I can get my hands on and the diet version of Gold Peak is the best.  Reminds me of my mother's homemade iced tea.  Yum.
